Community Art

It's amazing to create purposeful art. Here is some of my work that can be found around my city and school, as a way to engage others or raise awareness about organizations I am involved with.

zine

The Green Scene

Working with pre-school and elementary aged kids this summer, I wanted to create something hands-on, a way for them to actively think about their environment. I conceptualized, illustrated, and wrote this zine. I distributed copies at the summer camp, and I'm currently in the process of getting a grant to print copies for circulation during the school year.

t-shirt design

Austin Youth Climate Council

Designed AYCC T-shirt. The design was printed and T-shirts were distributed to all council members at the end of the year showcase.

The leaf outline defined us as a group, with all of us coming together to protect the people and nature sharing one ecosystem.

painted arcade

Math End of Year Project

Built and painted a full-size Arcade Game Cabinet for an Algebra 2 class project. The cabinet housed math games programmed by our class and was a way of engaging the students at the school with math.

logo design

Generation Connect

I designed the logo around two people joined by one flowing line, because the heart of Generation Connect is the relationship between generations, not just the tech help. The figures are at different heights to reflect the age gap, but the curve connects them as equals.

I chose a warm yellow and a clean, lowercase typeface so the app feels welcoming to seniors who may be nervous about technology.
