Art · Design · Engineering

I use art, design, and engineering as tools to solve the problems I see. Whether it's the risk to infants in hot cars, a forgotten power plant that could be repurposed, or helping seniors with technology, here are some projects where I used different skills to create a final plan or product.

Little Haven

Vehicle-related infant deaths are preventable, so my team and I designed a car seat accessory with medical-grade sensors and interchangeable thermal and cooling gel layers for colder and hotter months. We used art to explain the sensor technology and the product features, placing as a Top 5 Team at the Texas High School Ideas Challenge.

Site Reuse & Remediation

An unused power plant in New Haven was a problem for its neighborhood, so I researched how it could become a community space. I designed the floor plans for two levels to be converted into a museum and educational space for students.

Generation Connect

Seniors struggle with technology and often feel isolated, so my team and I built an app that pairs them with teen volunteers and creates an intergenerational community. We submitted our app to the Congressional App Challenge for our district and won the Congressional Recognition Award.
